UAE Mall Parking Guide 2026

Understanding UAE Mall Parking Systems

Most major malls in the UAE have transitioned to barrierless ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) parking systems. Here's what you need to know:

• No tickets required: Your license plate is scanned on entry and exit
• Automatic billing: Fees are charged via SMS link, Salik account, or parking apps
• Free periods: Most malls offer 3-4 hours free parking
• Payment deadline: Usually 3-5 days to pay before fines apply

Tips for Free Mall Parking

• Visit on weekends: Many malls (Mall of Emirates, The Galleria) offer free parking on weekends
• Cinema validation: VOX and Reel Cinemas often provide 2-3 extra free hours
• Spend thresholds: Some malls validate parking for purchases over AED 150-250
• Use valet strategically: At Mall of Emirates, valet parking means no overstay charges
• Know free zones: Dubai Mall's Zabeel and Fountain Views parking are always free

Malls with Completely Free Parking

These malls never charge for parking:

• Ibn Battuta Mall: 4,200+ free spaces, no time limits
• City Centre Mirdif: 5,500+ free spaces
• Dragon Mart: 6,000+ free spaces, 24/7
• Nakheel Mall: Free parking on Palm Jumeirah
• City Centre Sharjah: Free for all shoppers
• City Centre Al Zahia: Free in Sharjah

Parking Fines to Avoid

• Late payment: AED 150 fine if not paid within grace period
• Overnight parking: AED 200-350 per day
• Exit without paying: May result in vehicle registration blocks
• People of determination: Register for free parking exemptions via Salik or mall customer service
