A vehicle arrives at the bay
A camera covering the bay or approach reads the plate. Because each read includes direction, the system can distinguish between a vehicle arriving and leaving.

The system checks the plate against your account list, including fleet vehicles, subscribers, staff or blocked plates. You can keep that information in the spreadsheet, CSV or platform data your team already uses.

ANPR sends the vehicle and account details to your own charging platform. Your platform remains in control of authorisation, session start, tariffs and billing—exactly where those decisions belong.

Each read includes the time, direction and plate, with history available to export as CSV. This gives fleet teams a clearer link between a charging session and the vehicle on their invoice.
Understand bay occupancy without extra sensors
Because arrivals and departures are already being read, you can see which bays are occupied without installing another piece of hardware in the ground.
What it takes to run
- Ordinary IP cameras. No dedicated ANPR hardware — Hikvision over ISAPI, Dahua over CGI, or anything that gives an ONVIF or RTSP stream.
- Whatever barrier is already there. It is driven over ISAPI, CGI or a Modbus relay board, and all three end at the same momentary contact.
- One Windows or macOS machine on the same network as the cameras, or nothing at all if you run against the cloud API instead.
- A list you already keep. A Google Sheet, an uploaded CSV, or rows typed into the app — to a rule they are the same table of plates.
Questions
Does it start the charge?
No. ANPR identifies the vehicle and sends that information to your platform. Your charging platform starts the session, manages metering and handles payment, keeping those important functions in the system designed for them.
What if the driver is not on an account?
The system can send a message to the site, notify the driver through your own platform or simply log the visit instead of taking an automatic action. An unrecognised vehicle is a normal part of a public charging network and can follow your existing guest journey.
Does it work for plates from outside the Gulf?
ANPR Edge reads the six GCC countries. UK plate reading is being added now, and early access is open on request. Other plate formats should continue through your existing app or card journey.
