One simple parking journey, from drop-off to long stay
Airport parking has to serve very different visits through the same lanes: a ten-minute drop-off, a weekend away and a three-week trip. Plate recognition identifies the vehicle at entry and exit, so every guest receives the right parking journey and charge.

Make long-stay parking easier for every traveller
Paper tickets are easy to misplace during a long trip. They can end up in luggage, travel across the world and be forgotten by the time a guest returns. With a plate read at entry, the visit stays linked to the vehicle—not to a ticket the traveller has to keep safe.
How it runs
- Trigger
Easy entry at every terminal
Each entry lane reads the vehicle plate. The visit belongs to the vehicle, not a particular lane, so a guest can enter at one terminal and leave from another without creating a second stay.
- Question
Apply the right parking rules automatically
Short-stay windows, long-stay tariffs, staff access, fleet rules and pre-booked vehicles can all be handled using the lists and rules your operation already maintains.
- Action
A quicker, clearer exit
The exit read completes the visit and calculates the parking fee before the vehicle reaches the barrier. That means fewer delays at the lane and a smoother end to the journey.
Live occupancy for every car park
Because each read includes the direction of travel, occupancy is updated as vehicles enter and leave. Your team sees a live picture of each car park instead of waiting for an overnight reconciliation.
Make pre-booking straightforward
Any booking system that can add a plate to a spreadsheet or send a simple request can pre-authorise a vehicle. You can keep the booking tools your team already uses.
What it takes to run
- Ordinary IP cameras. No dedicated ANPR hardware — Hikvision over ISAPI, Dahua over CGI, or anything that gives an ONVIF or RTSP stream.
- Whatever barrier is already there. It is driven over ISAPI, CGI or a Modbus relay board, and all three end at the same momentary contact.
- One Windows or macOS machine on the same network as the cameras, or nothing at all if you run against the cloud API instead.
- A list you already keep. A Google Sheet, an uploaded CSV, or rows typed into the app — to a rule they are the same table of plates.
Questions
Can it run several car parks as one system?
Yes. ANPR Edge is licensed per location, with unlimited cameras on the unlimited licence. Each car park runs on its own PC, with volume pricing available from the second location. Car parks using the cloud API do not need an ANPR Edge licence.
What happens to a stay if a camera fails?
A parking visit is created from an entry and exit read. If an entry read is missed, the vehicle follows your existing manual process at exit—just as it would for a lost ticket. We recommend agreeing that process before launch so staff and guests know exactly what to expect.
Does it handle plates from outside the GCC?
ANPR Edge reads the six GCC countries. UK plate reading is being added now, and early access is open on request. Until a country is supported, those plates should follow your existing manual process, which is already an important part of airport parking operations.
Start with your staff car park
A staff car park is a practical first step: it lets your team see the system in everyday use before it reaches a terminal lane. Tell us about your site and we will help you plan the right starting point.
Talk to us about thisHow airports automate parking at this scale
Airport car parks mix minute-by-minute drop-offs with multi-week stays, across several terminals. Plate recognition at each entry and exit is what ties a single vehicle to a single stay, so the charge is right whether the car was there for ten minutes or ten days.
