Use Cases

Let the vehicle be the membership card

An unlimited-wash plan should make every visit easier. ANPR reads the plate as the vehicle arrives, checks the membership automatically and opens the gate as the car moves into the lane.

Let the vehicle be the membership card

Keep your wash lane moving

A smooth queue is central to a great wash experience. Asking drivers for cards or phone numbers slows the lane down, and forgotten cards make membership less convenient than it should be. Plate recognition makes the membership check quick and effortless.

How it runs

  1. Trigger

A member arrives at the lane

The lane camera reads the vehicle plate. There is no app to open, card to find or attendant check needed for the member to continue.

  2. Question

    Check the vehicle’s plan

The system checks the plate against your member list. You can keep that list in the tools you already use, including a Google Sheet, a POS export or the ANPR app.

  3. Action

Welcome the member or alert your team

When the plate matches, the barrier opens and the visit is recorded. If it does not, your attendant can receive a notification and help the driver—turning a missed match into a helpful membership conversation rather than a delay.

Track real visits with confidence

For plans that include one wash a day, the system treats each visit as one visit—not every time a vehicle appears on camera. This gives you a clearer record of membership use.

Keep the right people informed

Rules can send a message to Telegram, email, a Google Sheet or your existing systems. You choose who is notified, when they are notified and what they need to see.

What it takes to run

  • Ordinary IP cameras. No dedicated ANPR hardware — Hikvision over ISAPI, Dahua over CGI, or anything that gives an ONVIF or RTSP stream.
  • Whatever barrier is already there. It is driven over ISAPI, CGI or a Modbus relay board, and all three end at the same momentary contact.
  • One Windows or macOS machine on the same network as the cameras, or nothing at all if you run against the cloud API instead.
  • A list you already keep. A Google Sheet, an uploaded CSV, or rows typed into the app — to a rule they are the same table of plates.

Questions

What if a member changes car?

Simply update the member’s plate in the list you already manage. Whether that is a spreadsheet or another connected system, the gate machine receives the change on its next sync—no support ticket needed.

Does it work with the cameras we have?

Usually. The camera needs a clear view of the plate rather than a specialist ANPR model. A 2MP camera is often enough at low speed, while 4MP gives more flexibility. You can test your existing cameras with our free tier before making a commitment.

What happens when the internet is down?

With ANPR Edge, the membership list is stored on the machine at the gate and the decision is made locally, so the barrier can keep working when the internet is down. Plates are read on that same machine, which only needs to check in with us once every three days.
