Use Cases

A better valet experience starts with the vehicle

Paper claim tickets can be misplaced during a busy visit. A vehicle plate is already with the car and is read as soon as it arrives, giving your team a reliable starting point for every handover and retrieval.

A better valet experience starts with the vehicle

Help your team find every car faster

At busy venues, the real challenge is often retrieving cars quickly when many guests leave at once. Instead of beginning with a paper stub or a manual search, your team can look up the vehicle by plate and see the information recorded when it arrived.

How it runs

  1. Trigger

    Welcome the vehicle at drop-off

A camera at the drop-off reads the plate and records the arrival time and direction, giving your team an accurate start to the vehicle’s visit.

  2. Question

Record where the vehicle is parked

Your team can record the parking bay, level or assigned driver alongside the plate in the tools it already uses.

  3. Action

    Retrieve the vehicle with confidence

When the guest returns, the plate is the lookup key. A card or phone confirmation can still be useful, but the vehicle was already identified when it arrived.

Understand every visit

Entry and exit reads show the actual duration of each valet visit, helping you understand demand and plan staffing for busy periods.

Find a parked car faster

Connect your site’s CCTV cameras to ANPR Edge and search by plate to see which camera saw the vehicle most recently. This helps your team narrow down where the car is parked and speed up retrieval. The same search can be made available through an API, so your developers can build it into a staff or guest car-finder interface. If you prefer, we can also provide ready-to-use kiosk search software.

What it takes to run

  • Ordinary IP cameras. No dedicated ANPR hardware — Hikvision over ISAPI, Dahua over CGI, or anything that gives an ONVIF or RTSP stream.
  • Whatever barrier is already there. It is driven over ISAPI, CGI or a Modbus relay board, and all three end at the same momentary contact.
  • One Windows or macOS machine on the same network as the cameras, or nothing at all if you run against the cloud API instead.
  • A list you already keep. A Google Sheet, an uploaded CSV, or rows typed into the app — to a rule they are the same table of plates.

Questions

Do we have to stop issuing tickets?

No. Most sites should begin by reading plates alongside their existing tickets. This keeps the familiar fallback in place while your team gains a clearer vehicle record and can test the new workflow with confidence.

What about cars with foreign plates?

ANPR Edge reads the six GCC countries. UK plate reading is being added now, and early access is open on request. A vehicle on any other plate format should follow your existing ticket or manual process.

How fast is the read?

ANPR Edge reads on the machine at the site in 50-100 ms, with no cloud round trip in the path. The cloud API takes 900 ms to 1.5 s, including the network.
