Start counting automatically

What it does

With this on, ANPR Edge starts counting as soon as the cameras connect — exactly as if somebody had pressed Start. After a restart or a power cut nobody needs to open the app and press anything.

In the app: Starts counting on its own

Switch it on

This is a setting of ANPR Edge itself, not of Windows, so it needs no permissions and works on every computer. It is on unless somebody has turned it off.

  1. 1Open ANPR Edge and go to Support.
  2. 2Under "Still stuck?", press "How this computer is set up".
  3. 3Tick "Starts counting on its own".

It needs the other settings to be useful

Counting can only start once Windows is signed in and the app is running. For a computer that should recover from a power cut with nobody there, also check "Turns itself back on after a power cut", "Signs in to Windows on its own" and the watchdog.

Check it worked

  • Restart the computer and leave it. Once the cameras show as connected, the Tracking screen shows counting has started without anyone pressing Start.

Turning it off

Untick the same row. You will then need to press Start on the Tracking screen after every restart.

Still need help?

In ANPR Edge, open Support and choose Chat with support, or email [email protected]. Attach the file from Activity & logs › Download Logs — it includes these settings and the Windows records we need.
